About Ilana
Ilana (she/her/hers) is a certified nature therapy & forest bathing guide, ecological design and permaculture enthusiast, and the founder of Kindred Nature. Based in Northern Virginia on Piscataway land, she believes that nature belongs to everyone and that everyone belongs to nature. She guides and designs to support people in connecting with themselves, each other, and the nature in and around each of us.Ilana is also a naturalist who delights in foraging, outdoor wanders, gardening, dancing, playing music, learning Spanish, and cozy moments. Growing up exploring rivers, ponds, and mountains fostered in Ilana an early love and kinship with nature that continues to deepen. Ilana’s offerings through Kindred Nature are also shaped by her experiences with environmental policy, coalition management and leadership, disability services, job coaching, human resources, education, anthropology, spirituality, and resilience.Ilana holds a Nature & Forest Therapy Guide Certification from the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy Guides & Programs, a Permaculture Design Teaching Apprenticeship Certificate from Shenandoah Permaculture Institute and the University of Richmond, two Permaculture Design Certificates, a Master of Public Administration degree in Environmental Science & Policy, a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Human Services Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology with a Spanish minor.
